Michael B. Thurman Managing Shareholder of Thurman & Phillips, P.C. (1976).  Michael possesses extensive experience in community association, business, corporate, business acquisitions, real estate and construction related matters. His experience comes not only from being a practicing attorney since 1976, but also from his practical experience as a principal and director in various entities engaged in real estate acquisition, development, construction, contracting and retail.   Although experienced in a broad spectrum of legal areas, Michael has selectively restricted his primary areas of practice to community associations, restrictions interpretation and enforcement, mechanic's liens, business and corporate law. Michael is a member of the inaugural 2019 class of attorneys to be Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Property Owner Association Law. Michael represents a large number of community associations in Bexar and surrounding counties, including serving as general counsel for the largest mixed use development in Bexar County.  Michael is AV rated, which is the highest rating bestowed by Martindale-Hubbell on attorneys considered to have "Very High to Preeminent Legal Ability" with the highest standard of ethical and professional conduct.  Michael has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer in Texas Monthly magazine and one of the "Best Lawyers in San Antonio" in SA Scene Magazine.

Education:
Michael graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.B.A. in 1973.  Subsequently, he earned his Juris Doctorate from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1976. 

Professional Memberships & Affiliations:
Michael is admitted to practice in all state courts of Texas.  He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association, and a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas since 1991.  He is board certified in property owners association and residential real estate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Michael maintains his memberships in the State Bar of Texas Construction Law, Business Law, Litigation and Real Estate, Probate and Trust sections.

Zachary B. Aoki focuses his practice on trial and alternative dispute resolution. Zachary represents his clients in state, federal, and alternative dispute forums and has significant trial and appellate experience. Examples of industries he has represented include: transportation, oil and gas, real estate, insurance, media, accounting, construction, financial and lending institutions and technology companies. He has written articles on copyright law, insurance law, professional malpractice and trial practice.

Education:
Zachary obtained a B.B.A. from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University in 1987. He graduated from Boston College Law School in 1990.

Professional Memberships & Affiliations:
Zachary has appeared in state courts throughout Texas. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Northern, and Southern Districts of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the San Antonio Bar Association, and the Texas Bar Foundation. He has served as President, Vice-President and Director for the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association. Zachary has served on several committees including ones that focus on the provision of pro bono representation.
